Take Action Now

Call your Members of Congress to Support the CARERS Act! (National)

The CARERS Act is the most comprehensive piece of federal medical marijuana legislation ever introduced in both the U.S. House and Senate. The bill would allow state programs to continue without federal interference, move marijuana out of Schedule I, remove CBD from the scheduling, create access to banking services for legal marijuana businesses, eliminate the Public Health service review process and NIDA monopoly that block research, and allow Veterans Affairs doctors to write recommendations in states that have a medical marijuana program. Please call your two Senators and your member of Congress today to ask for their support.

Join ASA today! (National)

Membership matters! Americans for Safe Access (ASA) is the nation’s leading medical cannabis patients’ advocacy organization. Our goal is to make medical cannabis legally available for everyone who needs it, and we need your help to make that happen!

ASA members are patients, caretakers, doctors, researchers, attorneys, providers and concerned community members who are helping to overcome barriers to safe and dignified access to medical cannabis nationwide. ASA provides a patient-focused prospective on medical cannabis legislation and regulations. We strive to change state and federal laws to meet the needs of patients.

Organizing Turnout for Civic Meetings

Is your city or county discussing a new medical cannabis ordinance in light of the recently adopted state licensing law? You might need to organize your community to speak at public meetings in support of sensible regulations or in opposition to a ban. This section contains tips for getting your local allies to City Council and Board of Supervisors meetings to be heard. This is just a part of ASA’s free online Medical Cannabis Advocates Training Center.

Patient Focused Certification

Patient Focused Certification, PFC is an innovative new program that is calibrating the medical cannabis industry for excellence.  Comprehensive and flexible, PFC is what patients, healthcare providers, companies, and regulators can depend on to identify reliable, high-quality medical cannabis products and services.

PFC addresses product and distribution safety in the medical cannabis industry. The program provides components for operators, legislators and regulators to promote the adoption of safe and reasonable industry standards and regulations from seed to consumption.

Our third-party certification program for the medical cannabis industry is based on quality standards for medical cannabis products and businesses issued by the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) and the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia (AHP) Cannabis monograph.  PFC Certification and professional training is available in all medical cannabis states including the District of Columbia.
