Physicians, Patients, Members of Americans for Safe Access Rally to Protect Access to Medical Cannabis in Maryland

Baltimore, MD — On Friday, June 2nd,  physicians, cannabis industry professionals, and members of Americans for Safe Access will rally to protect patient access to medical cannabis throughout Maryland State. After more than four years since its legalization, medical cannabis patients are now months away from accessing prescribed medicinal cannabis in Maryland, unless Baltimore City Circuit Court decides to halt licensing of medical cannabis growers.

A rally encouraging the Baltimore City Circuit Court to continue with medical cannabis grower licensing will be held in advance of 10am hearing at Baltimore’s Circuit Court.

When: Friday, June 2nd, 8:30am – 9:30am

Where: Circuit Court for Baltimore City Courthouse, East 111 N. Calvert Street Baltimore, MD 21202

“Americans for Safe Access supports a medical marijuana industry that reflects the diversity of the citizens of Maryland, which would include an equitable representation of minority-owned businesses,” explained Beth Collins, Senior Director of Government Relations and External Affairs of Americans for Safe Access. “But our foremost concern is with patients who have been waiting over 4 years for access to what could be, in many cases, life saving medical cannabis treatment. The Maryland medical cannabis law was not passed by industry, but by countless hours of work by patients and their caregivers. We would like to see the Maryland legislature and the Commission work together to rectify this issue, without further delays to access.”
