Americans for Safe Access (ASA) is producing Laboratories of Democracy: 30 Years of State Medical Cannabis Programs — a new publication building on our landmark State of the States report series. Volunteers will play a key role in shaping this influential resource, which helps inform policymakers, advocates, and the public about the state of medical cannabis programs nationwide. ROLE DESCRIPTION
Volunteers will support ASA’s research and publication team. Depending on experience, assignments may include:
- Data entry & spreadsheet management
- Research & Source collection
- Editing & Document review
- Survey & Questionnaire Outreach
REQUIREMENTS
- Availability for at least 10 hours during one or more project phases:
- Sept 1–Oct 8, 2025
- Oct 9–Nov 12, 2025
- Nov 13–Dec 15, 2025
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for ASA’s mission and goals
- Proficiency with Excel (required)
- Strong attention to detail
- Research skills and ability to locate credible sources (preferred but not always required)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is an unpaid, temporary volunteer position. You can arrange a course credit if it's appropriate. Volunteers will be credited as contributors in the final report, and ASA gives priority consideration to interns, fellows, and volunteers for future staff opportunities.
