Federal Medical Cannabis Protections are at Risk, Again!

Medical cannabis patients are under threat again. For over a decade, the CJS Amendment has protected patients and caregivers from federal interference. But President Trump’s FY2026 budget proposal removes those protections, putting millions at risk. Congress must act now: keep the amendment and pass comprehensive legislation, such as the Medical Cannabis and Cannabinoid Act (MCCA), to establish a permanent, patient-centered federal program. Patients deserve certainty, not another decade of temporary fixes.
