Talking to Your Kids About Medical Cannabis

Children and teenagers are already receiving messages about cannabis—from friends, schools, social media, advertising, entertainment, and the adults around them. Parents and caregivers need tools for helping young people sort through that information while making clear distinctions between medical use, adult use, youth use, impairment, and product safety.

As part of Patient Advocacy in Action: Tools for Cannabis Safety, ASA will introduce new resources for having honest, age-appropriate conversations about cannabis. Participants will learn how to invite questions, correct misinformation without ridicule, explain risks without exaggeration, establish expectations around storage and access, and make cannabis an ongoing family conversation rather than a one-time lecture.

Register for practical guidance and new tools for talking with children and teens about cannabis with accuracy, honesty, and context.
