    Douglas Reil is cofounder and CEO of CannaKeys and is motivated to drive the mission of CannaKeys by his experience working with patients and his own experience incorporating cannabis to help treat his Crohn’s Disease. In the cannabis industry, he has worked in compliance and community development and is currently the Program Director of the compassion program Mission: Compassion which provides free cannabis medicine to low-income patients and was a founding member of the California Compassion Coalition which drove the passage of SB34 which created compliant pathways for compassionate cannabis activities in California.   • Uwe Blesching, Cannakeys
    Uwe Blesching is a medical writer and speaker in the cannabinoid health sciences. He is the author of multiple books including the Cannabis Health Index, Breaking the Cycle of Opioid Addiction, and Your Cannabis CBD:THC Ratio. He served patients and the community for twenty years as a Paramedic for the City of San Francisco and holds a BA in Humanities from the New College of California, an MA in Psychology and a PhD in Higher Education and Social Change from the Western Institute for Social Research (WISR). He is the Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer at cannakeys.com dedicated to unlocking the science of the endocannabinoid system. Uwe Blesching

    Elana is the CEO of The Cannigma. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, she currently lives in Israel with her husband, two kids and neurotic dog.   • Heather Despres, Patient Focused Certification
    Heather Despres, M.Sc. is serving as the Director of the Patient Focused Certification (PFC) program. Her prior experience in cannabis testing laboratories, as well as environmental and pharmaceutical labs, brings with it years of working to ensure that the products made for medical marijuana patients is safe. Heather has degrees in chemistry and bio-molecular science from Clarkson University as well as a Master’s in Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Denver.   • Dr. Jordan Tishler, Association of Cannabinoid Specialists

    Dr. Tishler is a Cannabinoid Specialist. Through his training in Internal Medicine and years of practice as an Emergency Physician, Dr. Tishler brings his knowledge, reason, and caring to patients here at inhaleMD, and through his advocacy work at the local and national levels.

    Dr. Tishler graduated from both Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, trained at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and is faculty at both the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He has spent many years working with the underserved, particularly providing care for Veterans. Having treated countless patients harmed by alcohol and drugs, his observation that he had never seen a cannabis overdose led Dr. Tishler to delve deeply into the science of cannabinoids’ safety and treatment.

    Dr. Tishler is a frequent speaker and author on a variety of topics related to the medical applications of cannabinoids. He is the President of the Association of Cannabinoid Specialists which aims to educate clinicians, lawmakers, and the industry about best practices and needed tools for proper patient care.

  • Moderator: Dustin McDonald, Americans for Safe Access
    Leading ASA's policy work is Dustin McDonald, a freelance policy, government relations and public affairs expert with over 20 years of experience in advocacy. Prior to this work, Dustin spent nearly three and a half years at Weedmaps where he built and managed a 20-person international policy and government relations team, and guided associated federal, state, local and international government engagements on cannabis policy issues. Dustin joined Weedmaps in 2016 after serving for three and a half years as the Director of the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Federal Liaison Center, where he led advocacy on municipal finance issues for a coalition of state, county and city government associations. At GFOA Dustin also served as lead staff on the GFOA’s Committee on Governmental Debt Management, working with committee members to develop best practices that promote sound financial practices for state and local governments.
