READING PRODUCT LABELS

Product labels should convey essential product information that informs purchasing decisions & the safe use of products. Typically, product labels are subject to regulatory oversight.

Label requirements for cannabis products can vary from state to state. However, common label components include the product name, type, weight, recommended dosage, potency, and expiration date. It's important to familiarize yourself with these elements when reading product labels.

VERIFYING PRODUCT LABELS: CERTIFICATE OF ANALYSIS (COA)

If cannabinoid/terpene content or claims of contaminant levels are on a label, the product manufacturer should be able to back this data with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) which a laboratory issues with the results of lab tests.
