Patient Focused Certification Cultivation Training - Ohio
On Friday, June 10th, Americans for Safe Access (ASA) will hold a single day Patient Focused Certification (PFC) training course specializing in cultivation for those applying for state licenses or interested in learning more about the medical cannabis industry in Ohio. The training will be sponsored by the Cleveland Cannabis College and held on-site at their campus in Independence Tower.
The training in Independence will provide a professional credential for participants that are working on state applications for cultivation. During this training, participants will receive a detailed overview of cannabis as medicine, cannabis oriented business operations, the history of medical cannabis, and national cannabis standards for cultivation and processing. Participants will also receive an overview on Ohio state and legal requirements, including training of federal law enforcement interactions and raid responses.

PFC is the nation’s only certification program based on quality standards issued by the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), and is now partnering with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Center for Innovative Pharmacy Solutions (CIPS) to help provide this training nation-wide. This 1-day Cultivation Training Course includes:
Cannabis as Medicine - The course gives participants an overview of the most current cannabis research, how cannabis works in the body, different varieties of cannabis and cannabinoids, and the various cannabis-based pharmaceuticals currently available.
Business Operations - The course teaches how to deliver the best quality of care to customers, how to handle interactions with Federal Law Enforcement, what to do in an emergency situation, and how to ensure the safety of cannabis products.
Understanding the Law - The course is an overview of federal cannabis laws, the history of medical cannabis laws, which states have medical cannabis laws, and the conflict between state and federal laws.
Ohio State and Legal Compliance Training - These courses are designed to give individuals a comprehensive foundation of knowledge of the laws pertaining to Cannabis businesses, as well as, the regulations that govern day to day operations. The SSCT course is broken into two components: state and local laws & state and local regulations.
National Cannabis Standards Training: Cultivation and Processing Operations - This course is designed to educate industry professionals about the particulars of compliance specific to the AHPA Recommendations to Regulators. Learn the skills necessary to implement Good Agricultural Practices including pesticide guidance, facility requirements, water resource management, recordkeeping, product safety recall systems, adverse event recording, and information disclosure.
After completion of an on-line exam, students will receive a certificate.
