ASA's Emergency National Town Hall Debrief

Thank you to the 200+ folks who joined us last night! For everyone else, here is the recap:

In the meeting, we discussed ASA's ZERO tolerance policy on Federal interference in the medical cannabis programs.  The CJS amendment means that the states, territories, or the District of Columbia, handle any matters surrounding medical cannabis operators, patients, and caregivers PERIOD.

This is also a reminder that cannabis is still illegal federally, and until we pass laws to create a national medical cannabis program, we are still at risk.

We must be a movement before there can ever be an "industry! That means solidarity, preparation, and action!

2 take-away actions from the meeting:

1. Join ASA in DC for Leadership Summit & Lobby Day. RSVP Today: www.safeaccessnow.org/patient_first_leadership_summit_lobby_day

2. Contact your members of Congress and Senators and let them know that you are concerned that the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia is violating the protections granted to states, territories, and the District of Columbia under the CJS medical cannabis amendment and that you want to make sure they keep those protections in place in the next budget.

Many of the slides from last night's presentation came from ASA's 20 years of advocacy video. If you don't know the history of how we got safe access, this is a good crash course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Vm3x8aeeE0
