Americans for Safe Access is happy to announce the following internship opportunity for 2015 – 2016. We are offering a sales development internship that will allow the student to learn about database management, industry standard software and develop sales leads for the nation’s largest organization promoting safe and legal access to cannabis for therapeutic use and research. The intern will have a learning experience and will work closely with various departments.
Responsibilities:
- Procure clear and detailed, accurate business lead and contact information
- Enter data into Nation Builder and help manage supporters and potential supporters
- Prospect potential business, and conduct cold calls
- Generate new business leads as well as foster existing customer relationships
- Have fun and learn!
Internship Duties:
Interns will research company websites, advertisements and social media for up to date contact information for businesses that fit the sales criteria. Categorize by company name, marketing contacts and titles, description, mailing address and website. Interns will also communicate with and attract sponsors from major companies to events.
Internship Goals:
This internship seeks to provide event and sales lead development experience through the direct involvement and coordination of two departments in order promote the growth of a show event. Interns will gain experience in business development and expanding the database of America's largest & longest-running medical cannabis patient focused event.
Time:
Interns are needed throughout the academic year. The weekly time commitment is flexible but must conform to our office hours, Monday – Friday 10:00am – 6:00pm. Interns should be able to provide 10 hours of service or more per week. Schedules will be arranged on an individual basis.
Requirements:
We are looking for interns with a high level of organization, internet research experience, familiarity with social media, and high administrative writing and typing skills. Medical cannabis knowledge is a plus. Database growth / management is a plus. Positions are unpaid.
