Illinois Medical Cannabis Patient Summit

Americans for Safe Access-Illinois and the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago are sponsoring the Illinois Medical Cannabis Patient Summit on June 6, 2015, at the University Center in Chicago. This summit will provide education to Illinois residents regarding medical cannabis and its benefits, medicating with cannabis, and how to participate in the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program. Additional information to help Veterans navigate the VHA system as a medical cannabis patient will be presented in the evening. 

      Patients and Caregivers Workshop

Time: 8:30am - 5:30p.m.
Location: Lake Room

This all day event is for adults (18+) who are interested in learning about becoming a registered Illinois Medical Cannabis Patient or becoming a registered Caregiver, including parents of children who may qualify as an Illinois Medical Cannabis Patient. Event space is limited, so buy your tickets early.

Keynote Speakers:  Suzanne Sisley, MD and Srishti Nangia, MD

Dr. Sisley is a specialist in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry and the Principal Investigator in a current FDA clinical study looking at the use of whole-plant cannabis in combat veterans with treatment-resistant PTSD.

Dr. Nangia is a Pediatric Epileptologist at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
