By uniting social media action, compelling data, and a concrete plan for POTUS, we shift the conversation to expanding the “Great Things” about Medical Cannabis to Everyone through National Access.

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN ASA'S “GREAT THINGS” SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN

Ideas for photo messages:

First sign: Highlight a “great thing” about medical cannabis in your life or community (examples: “I am pain free,” “My son is seizure free,” “30% fewer opioid deaths in my community”).

  Second sign: Share what a change in federal law would make possible (“If every community had access,” “If my son’s medicine was allowed at school”).

Third sign: Hold up the shared message: “President Trump, Patients Need a Bold, Beautiful Breakthrough.”

Script 1 – Pain Relief Story

[Intro with Sign 1]
“President Trump, you said you’ve heard ‘great things’ about medical cannabis. For me, the great thing is that I can live pain-free and keep my inflammation under control.”

[Transition with Sign 2]
“But Mr. President, a better thing would be if federal law recognized this medicine—so every patient in America could access it safely.”

Script 2 – Pediatric / Seizure Story

[Intro with Sign 1]
“President Trump, you said you’ve heard ‘great things’ about medical cannabis. One of those great things is that it keeps my son seizure-free. It changed his life, and ours.”

Script 3 – Community / Opioid Crisis Story

Tips for Taking Photos:

For iOS (iPhone)

    1. Open your Settings app.
    2. Scroll down and tap on Camera.
    3. Find the Mirror Front Camera option and turn it off.

For Android Devices

    1. Open your Camera app.
    2. Tap the Settings icon, which may look like a gear.
    3. Look for an option like Save selfies as previewed or Picture as previewed and turn it off.
    4. After Changing the Setting
    5. Once disabled, your new selfies will be saved in the correct orientation, just as you see them in the live preview.
    6. If you have an old, mirrored selfie, you may be able to mirror it back to the correct orientation using your photo editing tools.

Recording Tips

    • Speak directly to the camera — as if you’re talking to him.
    • Keep it short & sharp — 30–45 seconds max.
    • Hold each card up as you speak — it doubles the impact.
    • Use “President Trump” or “Mr. President” at least once in each clip.

 You can use the photos/video you create on all social media platforms, but each platform has its own unique differences. Here’s how to make sure your message lands where it counts. For a bigger impact, organize a group of individuals to post on the same platform simultaneously and ensure you tag Americans for Safe Access.
