Position Description:
Americans for Safe Access (ASA) Fundraising/Member Engagement Interns/Fellows support our fundraising and member engagement efforts. This includes researching donor prospects, coordinating donor cultivation and appreciation, donor and member communications, supporting ongoing membership recruitment and engagement campaigns, and securing membership benefits. Interns will also assist in tracking donations and membership metrics, providing administrative support, and helping prepare reports and presentations for donors and partners.
Interns will gain experience in donor relations, fundraising strategies, nonprofit development, and member engagement. They will learn about ASA’s priority issues and how to mobilize and retain a national supporter base.
Internships/fellowships are unpaid positions that can be used for course credit, if applicable. ASA gives interns, fellows, and volunteers priority for staff positions.
Qualifications:
- Passion for ASA’s mission and goals
- Interest or experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, or member engagement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, with great attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Canva and Nation Builder a plus
- Sense of humor a must
- Flexible schedule, availability to work evenings and weekends as needed, ability to travel periodically a plus
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 hours per week for eight weeks (greater availability facilitates more substantive internship opportunities).
- Access to a computer and the ability to make voice calls
