Position Description:


Community Outreach Interns/Fellows at Americans for Safe Access (ASA) are responsible for supporting community outreach by building partnerships, mobilizing local stakeholders, and organizing grassroots campaigns. Interns will assist in planning outreach activities, coordinating events, developing outreach materials, and initiating relationships with key community groups and organizations.

This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in community organizing, outreach strategy, and public engagement, particularly around health policy and medical cannabis advocacy. ASA gives interns, fellows, and volunteers priority for staff positions.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for ASA’s mission and goals
  • Experience in community outreach, grassroots organizing, or public health advocacy
  • Experience with medical cannabis patients a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse community groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Canva
  • Organized, with good time management skills
  • Sense of humor a must
  • Flexible schedule, availability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 hours per week for eight weeks (greater availability facilitates more substantive internship opportunities).
  • Access to a computer and the ability to make voice calls
