Can We Count on You?
We believe safe access is a human right and if there were ever a year to show our strengthened solidarity in numbers, its 2014. Deadlines are fast approaching and we are less than three weeks away from the 2nd Annual National Medical Cannabis Unity Conference and Lobby Day. This will be the largest gathering of people who believe safe access is a human right. Can we count on you and your voice to be there?
Research shows that YOUR citizen lobbying is 6x more effective than lobbying from special interest groups. When you register for the conference we will make an appointment for you to meet with your Representative on our Lobby Day, April 7, 2014.
Across the nation people are speaking up and joining our fight. With medical marijuana moving more into the mainstream, patients and advocates need to come together to learn about the science and how to utilize increased attention on cannabis to bring meaningful change. This conference is not just for patients and advocates, but it’s also for lawyers, doctors, policy makers, and key stakeholders as we establish medical marijuana as one of the major public health issues of our time.
Unity 2014 will feature panels ranging from the history of botanical medicines in the U.S., the future of regulation and product safety, an assessment of the different state medical marijuana laws and how they're working for patients, and the myths and facts of CBD.
As well as speakers Sebastopol Mayor Robert Jacob, American Herbal Pharmacopoeia Executive Director Roy Upton, Pediatrician Dr. Stephen Corn, M.D., cannabis researcher Dr. Jahan Marcu, PhD., University of Massachusetts Amherst Botany Professor Lyle Craker, Center for Regulatory Effectiveness Director Jim Tozzi, author Martin Lee, and Criminal Justice Policy Foundation President Eric Sterling, to name a few.
Even if you are unable to attend, please make small donation to help send patients and advocates from across the country to our National conference and lobby day. We have received over 200 applications from 35 states for our scholarship program. With the help of our supporters like you, last year we were able to bring 125 patients to Washington, DC. Will you help us make this happen again? No matter how small the donation, together we can make a difference!
This is your chance to be apart of an amazing event and take a stand for safe access. Today is the last day to receive our discounted room rate at the Mayflower Hotel. We have also extended our early bird registration to TODAY only! Make sure you take advantage of the savings. This is not the year to sit on the sidelines!
