Ask the Doctor Webathon

Join Americans for Safe Access and the Association of Cannabinoid Specialists on August 3rd at 4 pm PT/7 pm ET for a patient-focused educational event to provide solutions to patients who have questions about cannabis and cannabinoid treatments. This event will provide participants an overview of cannabinoid medicine, opportunities to hear from specialists on specific topics of interest in break-out rooms, and a general Q&A session. This event is free, but donations are recommended.

Pain Management

This session, led by Dr. Julia Arnsten, MD, will discuss dosing and approaches to pain management based on human data.

Dr. Julia Arnsten is Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine and a Professor of Medicine, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and Epidemiology & Population Health. Dr. Arnsten is a general internist with a long-standing interest in behavioral medicine, including adherence with medication-taking, nicotine dependence, and substance abuse. She currently leads led an NIH-funded research program focused on addiction and chronic medical illness.

Mental Health

This session, led by Dr. Jordan Rishler, MD, will discuss cannabinoids, dosing, and approaches to mental health issues like anxiety and depression, as well as insomnia.

Dr. Tishler is a Cannabis Specialist. Through his training in Internal Medicine and years of practice as an Emergency Physician, Dr. Tishler brings his knowledge, reason, and caring to patients here at inhaleMD, and through his advocacy work at the local and national levels.

Pediatrics

This session, led by Dr. Bonni Goldstein, MD, will discuss issue around pediatric care and use of cannabinoids with special emphasis on CBD for pediatric epilepsy.

Dr. Goldstein

Dr. Goldstein was a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at USC School of Medicine in Los Angeles, Emergency Transport Attending Physician at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, and Emergency Medicine Attending Physician in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. Dr. Goldstein was awarded “2017 Healthcare Professional of the Year” by Americans for Safe Access, a non-profit that promotes safe and legal access to cannabis throughout the nation.

Neurodegenerative Diseases

This session, led by Dr. Suraj Tandon, MD, will focus on the broad array of neurodegenerative diseases such as MS, ALS, Alzheimer’s dementia, Parkinson’s, and others and the use of cannabinoids for symptom and behavioral management.

Dr. Tandon has a special interest with additional training in cannabinoid medicines. He has had several years of experience within this field, helped develop healthcare reform and public policy making in Canada and is a strong supporter and advocate for furthering the education including research on the efficacy of cannabinoid therapies. He currently practices as a medical cannabinoid consultant and is also one of the clinical site investigator lead physicians at McMaster University & The Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research.
