Amanda Reiman, PhD MSW

Dr. Reiman is the Founder and CEO of Personal Plants, a platform designed to encourage mindful and healthy cannabis consumption as well as provide evidence-informed content to cannabis consumers, regulators, media, and others. After earning her PhD in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley in 2006, Dr. Reiman taught Substance Abuse Treatment and Drug Policy at Berkeley for over a decade.

She conducted one of the first research studies to survey patients from inside a dispensary. She pioneered the field of cannabis as a substitute for other drugs with her seminal study on the topic in 2008. An internationally recognized expert on cannabis, Dr. Reiman has presented her research all over the world and has been published in a variety of academic journals, books, and mainstream media.
