Five cannabis shop robberies in a week prompt calls for banking solutions

In December, cannabis advocacy group Americans for Safe Access (ASA) released a Robbery Preparedness Guide “to aid businesses in developing plans to stay safe during robberies.”
“Recently, we have received several notifications about robberies at cannabis businesses across the country. In the last 2 months, the San Francisco Bay area alone has had more than 25 shops broken into and more than $5 million in cannabis stolen. We know this is an issue nation-wide, and we want to do our part to help ensure that all dispensaries remain secure, their staff and patients feel SAFE, and that products continue to be available to patients,” ASA wrote in a Facebook post sharing the guide.
