Background

In 2000, voters approved Question 9, amending the state constitution to allow qualifying patients access to medical cannabis. Registered patients may possess up to one ounce of usable cannabis, cultivate up to seven plants (3 mature, 4 immature), and designate a caregiver. In June, 2013, the Nevada legislature enacted SB 374, establishing a statewide medical cannabis distribution program.
