Adult Use Ballot Measure: Massachusetts Marijuana Legalization, Question 4

ASA’s Position: Neutral

Massachusetts’s Question 4 would create a program under which adults over the age of 21 could possess and purchase marijuana from retail stores for non-medical purposes. ASA’s mission is focused exclusively on medical cannabis; and therefore, the organization generally does not take positions of support or opposition regarding adult-use (aka "recreational") marijuana laws. The ballot measure contains an explicit provision that Question 4 shall not affect Chapter 369 (the MA medical cannabis law). ASA has a neutral position on Massachusetts’s Question 1.
