The CARERS Act is the most comprehensive piece of federal medical marijuana legislation that has ever been introduced in both the U.S. House and Senate Introduced in the Senate by Senators Corey Booker (D-NJ), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and in the House by Representatives Steve Cohen (D-TN) and Don Young (R-AK), the bipartisan legislation would remedy the state-federal conflict over medical marijuana laws.

The bill would allow state programs to continue without federal inference, move marijuana out of Schedule I, remove CBD from the scheduling, create access to banking services for legal marijuana businesses, end the Public Health service review process and NIDA monopoly that blocks research, and allow VA doctors to write recommendations in states that have a medical marijuana program.

For the first time ever, we have comprehensive medical marijuana legislation in both the U.S. House and Senate.  Sign the Petition below to urge your senators and representative to protect safe access and patients right by signing onto the CARERS Act.

I’m signing because I am a medical marijuana patient who has restrictions on medication that alleviates my symptoms enough to live a functional life. My parents are divorced, and my father lives in Florida. I am frustrated and concerned as to why medical marijuana is not allowed to be transported between states if other prescription drugs, with higher addictive properties, are. I hope that patients who feel relief from their medication can extend that relief to wherever life may take them; and, not feel anxiety or other symptoms from their medication being withheld from or illegal to use at certain places. A plane or car ride does not eliminate the need for medication, unfortunately.

Get real guys, do your duty that you were elected for, to act on the wishes of the citizens you are “supposed” to represent. YOUR Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines are KILLING THEMSELVES at a rate that is unacceptable in ANY culture. Theses are the men and women that FREELY CHOCE to defend YOU!!! Step out of your political views and thoughts for just a moment and open your eyes and heart to the ones that are suffering, simply for defending each and EVERY American, including you. Clearly the Federal Government, specifically the VA’s approach is an EPIC FAILURE (suicides, lives lost/taken at a rate of 20-30 PER DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, PER DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) in the "treatment"of our Soldiers. How many lives are taken per hour, per day, per week, per month, or per year with marijuana? If it is, let’s say 1 per day, isn’t that a 2000%-3000% reduction?????? Now……Is it too much to ask for your compassion for YOUR DEFENDERS???? Get off of your ass, be PROACTIVE, and SAVE THE LIVES of the ones that have REPEATEDLY SAVED YOURS. Thank you for your time. GOD SPEED.

I believe that this is a natural plant that God has made and if it can help those with multiple medical conditions it should be reclassified. Preliminary research has proven that many cannabinoids have medicinal value, especially CBDs and there are so many other cannabinoids that have not even been researched yet.

As far as recreational, I also believe this should be legal, it is far less lethal than alcohol. and I am not even a user of MJ because of drug testing at work and since cannabis is fat soluble, it will remain in your system for generally 30 days.
