The CARERS Act is the most comprehensive piece of federal medical marijuana legislation that has ever been introduced in both the U.S. House and Senate Introduced in the Senate by Senators Corey Booker (D-NJ), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and in the House by Representatives Steve Cohen (D-TN) and Don Young (R-AK), the bipartisan legislation would remedy the state-federal conflict over medical marijuana laws.

The bill would allow state programs to continue without federal inference, move marijuana out of Schedule I, remove CBD from the scheduling, create access to banking services for legal marijuana businesses, end the Public Health service review process and NIDA monopoly that blocks research, and allow VA doctors to write recommendations in states that have a medical marijuana program.

For the first time ever, we have comprehensive medical marijuana legislation in both the U.S. House and Senate.  Sign the Petition below to urge your senators and representative to protect safe access and patients right by signing onto the CARERS Act.

Thank you! I am a nj medical marijuana card holder. So glad Senator Cory Booker and the other bi partisan senators have introduced this important bill. Would love to see legislation protecting cardholders from bias employers and drug testing for employment.

With no ass about 50 states passing some kind of legal cannabis law it’s about time the government is honest and finally schedules cannabis as it should be not with the present scheduling making it more harmful than any other drugs! The American public has been misled long enough the indoctrination of our great great grandparents are great-grandparents and iPads has led to Further in Dr. nation of the present citizenry all basing their attitudes against legalizing cannabis on falsehoods and lies perpetrated by our own government! From the first anti-cannabis short film, reefer madness, put out and perpetrated by the Zen United States drug czar Anslinger along with all the lies he perpetrated by placing false articles in the nations newspapers then cited those same false articles as truth in order to get the Congress to pass the cannabis Stanback it has been one lie after another culminating in the 1970s with our most dishonest president ever Richard M Nixon and his controlled substance act which scheduled cannabis as a substance worse than heroin or cocaine more dangerous then any other drug, or so It was labeled by the US government again all based on lies and false hoods! It’s about time the truth comes out and cannabis is legalized so that the free citizens of the United States can make their own decisions as to There used or non-use of cannabis. Isn’t it about time we are given freedom of choice, freedom in general to pick a room decisions? I for one say yes to freedom and no to the government telling me what I can & can’t do and basing these archaic regulations on lies perpetrated by the same government, do United States of America! As " The freest nation on earth" I say it’s about time we actually were given our own freedom our own freedom of choice our own freedom to treat ourselves with whatever we want to as long as it does not harm others and as for the people against cannabis let them make their own choice as to not have it in their home or around them or their family and at the same time keep to themselves by not participating in our using cannabis wow those of us who wish to have the freedom to make that choice on our own and of our own free will! I vote yes for freedom, Plenum of choice and as a free adult responsible citizen of the United States it’s our right to make our own choices as well as allow our physicians the right to make medical decisions without the government’s directions or breathing down our necks plane "nanny state "and continuing the prohibition of cannabis! I first believed and insist that the government remove their cannabis regulations in total and allow states to make their own decisions and in doing so allow the citizenry to make their own personal choices.

Let’s get off the horse and into the car moved into this century and admit that the government has been wrong all along in regards to cannabis and hemp. It’s time we allow commercial hip production back into these United States as well as cannabis for medical and recreational use. Please embrace cannabis don’t shun it anymore wake up and Demonstrate your intelligence by pushing the representatives to void all cannabis regulations making cannabis what it really is a plant that should be able to use and enjoy by personal choice and not by governments choice for us! That’s all band together and force our federal government’s hand to admit the wrongdoing and ill will is based on nothing more than a bad attitude and the only thing harmful about cannabis are the laws against it, especially the federal laws let’s pass the Carers Act NOW!

A Viet Nam Vet has suffered with severe PTSD. He has had counselling, cognitive behavior therapies, many types of pills and drug regimens, and hospitalizations at the VA Hospital. He is 100% mentally disabled. Only the cannabis helps calm his PTSD in daily life, and sleep. This also helps his Glaucoma and eye pain (aided by Rx 3 types daily, eye drops which do help). The eye doctor says he cannot prescribe the marijuana for him, but whatever helps control the intraocular pressures this well….keep doing it!!
