Not Cooley
The California Attorney General race - between Steve Cooley and Kamala Harris - is the most important election contest affecting medical cannabis patients. A win for Los Angeles Co. District Attorney Cooley will devastate the gains we have made in bringing safe access to medical cannabis for Californian patients. Tell Speaker Pelosi and your member of Congress to oppose S.258, “Saving Kids from Dangerous Drugs Act of 2010.”
In a July 29th vote, the Senate passed S.258, the “Saving Kids from Dangerous Drugs Act of 2010.” While ASA supports keeping the goal of keeping medical marijuana out of the hands of non-patients, we are concerned that without amendments, this act goes too far and infringes on the rights of medical marijuana patients by doubling federal penalties.

Tell the DC City Council Patients Deserve Better!
In a preliminary vote last week, the D.C. City Council unanimously approved a bill to control and regulate medical marijuana in accordance with a 1998 ballot initiative adopted by 69% of D.C. voters. However, ASA is concerned the legislation may fall short of meeting patients' needs. The Council has an opportunity to make necessary changes before they vote again next month.
