National Survey on Medical Cannabis Policy!

fill-out-survey-button.jpgAt Americans for Safe Access (ASA), our policy staff regularly weighs in on medical cannabis policy. From new legislation and regulations to amendments to existing medical cannabis laws, our staff are guiding lawmakers and regulators on crafting laws that work for patients.

Seventeen years of experience with medical cannabis laws has taught us that authorizing the use of cannabis for medical purposes is only the first step and the nuances of the laws and regulations are extremely important.  It is ASA's position that the true test of successful medical cannabis policy is when the patient community has achieved safe and legal access.

After hosting over a hundred community forums across the US to get feedback from patients about what is important to them, ASA created a series of tools to evaluate new laws and regulations called Legislating Compassion and Regulating Compassion. By using these tools to shape ASA’s legislative analysis, lawmakers and regulators receive input based upon what is important to patients.

In 2014, we expect at least 10 new states will try to pass legislation and many more will pass new amendments and regulations. In
preparation for the busiest legislative session ever, ASA will be publishing a State of State report in the first weeks of January. This is where we need YOUR input.

Please take a few minutes to fill out this short survey to tell us what is most important to you in medical cannabis legislation and regulations. Thank you for your help!
