HR 784 States' Medical Marijuana Property Rights Protection Act (2013)

The States' Medical Marijuana Property Rights Protection Act was introduced by Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA). The bill would prevent the federal government from seizing property used by state-authorized medical marijuana providers, such as dispensaries and cultivation sites. The Department of Justice has threatened landlords of medical marijuana providers in an effort to suppress state medical marijuana programs. The bill currently has 11 cosponsors.
