The recent raids of medical marijuana businesses across the state are sparking a protest on Wednesday evening at the Flathead County Courthouse by caregivers and patients in the Flathead Valley.

Marijuana shop owners and employees want to send a message to the Obama administration that they want federal agencies to stay out of Montana, and that they also can't afford to let more raids happen.

Caregivers and patients will be protesting at the court house beginning at 5 p.m. in conjunction with the raid emergency response campaign, created by the Americans for Safe Access organization.

Medical marijuana advocates are also planning a rally and march through downtown Missoula on Saturday afternoon.

This week shops in Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Olney were raided as well as a shop in Missoula.
