BAKERSFIELD - The county has a lot of options when it comes to medical marijuana dispensaries, and County Supervisors will get a chance to choose one Tuesday.

That is when the Board of Supervisors will hear Deputy County Counsel John Irby's summary of the conflicting local, state, and federal laws on the topic.

Irby lists seven options from doing nothing to turning the issue back to state government, but makes no recommendations.

Dozens of people have testified before the Board of Supervisors they are in chronic pain which only marijuana can relieve.

District Attorney Ed Jagels said the system is riddled with fraud and gives pot to people without medical issues.
