Chris Silveri, Fox 23 News (NY)

Governor Spitzer could be softening his stance on medical marijuana.

A proposal is in the works that would allow physicians to prescribe amounts of marijuana to fight symptoms linked to AIDS, cancer, and their treatments.

State lawmakers are currently working to put together a bill they can agree on.

Spitzer now says he believes that he initially spoke too negatively about medical marijuana.

He says the bill would be structured for appropriate use, based upon evidence presented.
