Medical Marijuana Advocates Arrested

Seven medicinal marijuana advocates gave up their freedom while protesting The protestors were taken into custody outside the Marriott hotel around noon on Tuesday.

Demonstrators were protesting the continued raids on regional medical marijuana dispensaries in the San Diego region citing a conflict between state and federal laws.

The seven members who were arrested were among about 60 demonstrators who appeared in Mission Valley to protest against the DEA.

Representatives for the DEA, cited a lack of medical evidence to support claims by patients that the medical marijuana is necessary to fight ailments and pain related to cancer and other serious medical afflictions.

All those arrested were cited and released.
