Another marijuana dispensary could be coming to the city.

Medical marijuana supporters said a second pot shop will benefit thousands of Santa Cruz County users through greater access, better prices and higher quality.

Medical marijuana patient K.E. Sampson of Corralitos submitted an application to turn an empty two-story office building into The Santa Cruz Patient Collective. The Limekiln Street site is in the Harvey West industrial area.

It will be similar to the Greenway Compassionate Relief Inc. dispensary, the city's first medical marijuana dispensary that opened on DuBois Street in September.

"Healthy competition will ensure the best prices as well as the best quality," Sampson, 44, said. "My forte will be providing the highest quality of organic marijuana I can come across."
