Key Vermont lawmakers say there may be little they can do to address a glitch that has turned up in the state's medical marijuana bill. That word follows reports about a man with multiple slerosis who lives at a Burlington nursing home who is being barred by the home from using the medical marijuana he has been prescribed.

Starr Farm nursing home officials say they can't let Shayne Higgins smoke marijauna because the facility gets federal funding and smoking marijuana violates federal law.

A spokesman for Flether Allen Health Care says the Burlington hospital also would not allow medical marijuana to be smoked on its property, because that would violate the hospital's no-smoking rule.
