SAN ANDREAS, Calif. A San Andreas woman wants to open Calaveras County's first medical marijuana dispensary by April First.

Kim Cue says she has been working for months to open a dispensary but has been rebuffed by county officials.

Last night, the Board of Supervisors introduced an ordinance that would regulate such businesses, paving the way for Cue to open her shop.

The new ordinance, which will get a second review next week, would restrict dispensaries to professional office space not within a thousand feet of any school, public library, park or youth-oriented establishment.
